In your daily work
In this role, you will be surrounded by driven and knowledgeable colleagues. You will primarily work with controls against food fraud, but the position also includes regular food inspections as needed and in consultation with your colleagues.
Our team within food control consists of a supervisory coordinator and three environmental inspectors who all work with regular food control, and some examples of your tasks may include;
- Plan and conduct targeted inspections
- Conduct traceability checks, for example, reviewing invoices, delivery notes, and comparing how much has been purchased and how much has been sold.
- Check labeling and information about products and, if necessary, take samples to verify that the information is correct, such as content or origin.
- Investigate suspected food fraud, document what has been discovered, and prepare materials for decisions on measures.
- Contact and collaborate with other municipalities, the Food Agency, Customs, the Police, and other authorities as needed.
- Follow the development of food fraud in Sweden and internationally and use that knowledge in planning controls.
- Participate in the administrative joint group working against welfare crime and labor market crime.
It is also important that you feel comfortable proactively finding the right information in legislation, guidelines, and other sources.
About you
As a person, we are looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving and finding new paths.
To thrive in the role, we see you as having:
- Post-secondary education in the food area (e.g., food safety) or similar that the employer considers equivalent.
- At least five years of experience working with food control in various industries, recently.
This position requires a B driver's license.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Training in food fraud
- University education in law
- Familiarity with common types of food fraud and which products are more often subjected to fraud.
- Knowledge of how traceability checks are conducted, for example, reviewing invoices and volumes.
Since the role is new, it is important that you have experience working independently, see what needs to be done, and can take initiative while translating your competence into new working methods and practical solutions in your daily work.
In the role, you are required to plan and conduct sampling to verify whether information about labeling, content, or origin is correct. It is also important that you can investigate suspected fraud, have experience with this type of documentation, and prepare clear materials for further actions. If you also have knowledge of food fraud internationally, this role is likely a good step for you.
